My name is Nico Juárez Latimer-Knowles, I am a transdisciplinary designer, researcher and lecturer in the Projects Department at BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona. I have a degree in Architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Barcelona (UPC).
My research focuses on design project methodologies ranging from scientific methodologies rooted in productive logics to other experimental practices disconnected from the resolution of given problems. It observes the particularities, the links, the entanglements and the tensions between directed and erratic procedures.
It is situated between different disciplines in an attempt to glimpse the relations between authorship (motives and motivations), the means of production (languages, techniques and tools) and the influence of contexts (cultural, geographic and social) on the choice or submission of processes, contemplating both quantitative and qualitative values; links and emotions.
It captures the implications, methodological as well as ethical, aesthetic and psychological, on the actors, agencies, contexts, particularities, inclinations, temporalities and politics that govern the different disciplinary logics and biases.
