Silvia Bernad

My name is Silvia Bernad, and I am a lecturer within the Interior spaces itinerary of Bachelor Degree in Design at BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona and within the Design and Digital Creation degree at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). I am also a designer at the studio Pervinca. Arquitecture and Design. . I hold a degree in Interior Design from BAU, a post-graduate degree in Design of Exhibition Spaces from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and a Master’s Degree in Research in Art and Design from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Currently, I am a PhD student of Cultural Studies at BAU’s Doctorate Unit.

I research the political and aesthetic dimension of contemporary space, in its particular link with philosophy and art, analyzing the relational aspects of the atmospheric. My doctoral thesis investigates the biopolitical character of contemporary domestic space and the issue of public and private spheres in the intersection with technology and media.
