Dissenyadores gràfiques

The “Graphic Designers” exhibit is a tribute to a pioneering generation of women who dedicated their professional lives to graphic design in Catalonia. It is a selection of twelve designers, born in Catalonia between 1940 and the end of 1950, or with close ties to it. With a deeply-rooted history, this can be considered the first important group of women in the history of Catalonia that emerged from the pedagogical and disciplinary centres of design in Barcelona, such as Elisava (1961) and the Eina school (1967), where most of them studied. This led to their inclusion in the labour market in the world of graphic design at the end of the 1960s and over the course of the 1970s.
