I am Aina Roca, a graduate in architecture from UdG (Universitat de Girona), with a Master’s degree in architecture from UdG and a Master’s degree in scenography from HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht). My professional practice spans architecture, performative installation, and experimental research.
Currently, I am a lecturer in the Spatial Design department at HKU, a member of the “Expanded Scenography” research group within the “Expanded Artistic Practices” professorship at HKU, and a doctoral candidate at BAU.
I am a co-founder and member of the theater company Ellipsis, where we study elements that activate the audience’s imagination through object theatre using sound, light, and movement.
My research aims to explore the role of space in the framed image. It begins with the collection and analysis of existing spatial compositions and involves experimentation through the construction of models to study the placement of the observer’s eye.
