I am Aina Roca, graduated in architecture at UdG (Universitat de Girona), Master in architecture at UdG and Master in scenography at HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht). My professional practice is developed between architecture, performative installation and experimental research.
Currently, I am a lecturer in the Spatial Design department at HKU, a member of the “Expanded Scenography” research group within the “Expanded Artistic Practices” professorship at HKU, and a doctoral candidate at BAU.
I am a co-founder and member of the theater company Ellipsis, where we study elements that activate the audience’s imagination through object theatre using sound, light, and movement.
My research seeks to explore the role of space in the framed image. It begins with the collection and analysis of existing spatial compositions and moves to experimentation through the construction of models to study the placement of the viewer’s eye.
