Alejandra López Gabrielidis PhD

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Communication Networks and Social Change (CNSC) group of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and lecturer in Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts in the Design and Fine Arts degrees at BAU, Barcelona College of Arts and Design of Barcelona.

I have a degree in Philosophy from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina), a Master’s Degree in Art and Digital Technologies from the Université Rennes 2 (France) and a PhD in Advanced Studies in Artistic Productions from the University of Barcelona and the Université Rennes 2.

In my research I examine the new modalities of embodiment that emerge in relation to the phenomenon of datification, analysing the relationships that are woven between data and the body from a paradigm of distributed agency and cognition.

I work on research from a collective framework in the Vector de Sociotechnical Conceptualisation, I translate the works of authors related to my research, I often collaborate with artists and publish articles and essays in various journals and media. I support doctoral theses that are in the field of critical studies on contemporary digital cultures and work from a philosophical and/or artistic approach.
