Anna Moreno

Portrait of Anna Moreno

I am Anna Moreno, a visual artist and teacher at BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona. I live between The Hague and Barcelona.

I have an MA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. I have conducted artistic residencies at the Jan Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht (NL), SASG (Seoul), HIAP (Helsinki), Salzamt (Linz, AT), and Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella, IT), to name a few. In addition to my artistic practice, I have lectured at the San Francisco MOMA, the University of Barcelona, and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, among others, and I taught Artistic Research at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague for five years. I publish essays on art, politics, and architecture in specialized magazines such as CARTHA.

I am interested in utopian architectural projects, radical design, and urbanism as a backdrop of how we, as a society, have imagined the future from the 70s until today. My process is research-based and starts by conversing with relevant figures from those fields and borrows from speculative literature and cinema to create performative events which later translate into video installations and fictional essays.
