My name is M. Àngels Fortea, I am the coordinator of the Master’s Degree in Research and Experimentation in Design at BAU. I am also the coordinator of BAU Editions, and a researcher and professor of the Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication at BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona. I hold a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). I completed my doctorate within the Advanced Studies in Artistic Productions program of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (UB), obtaining the PhD degree in Design.
As a researcher I have specialized in the History of Design, being my fields of interest: design, in general; and more specifically, graphic design and visual communication; pop culture and the sixties in graphic design.
Currently, my interest is focused on design and gender, and in particular, on giving visibility to female graphic designers and fighting for the recognition of their work and contribution to the field of graphic design and visual communication. I am, thus, attempting in this way, to put an end to a historical situation of gender discrimination.
