My name is Pau de Riba, I am a lecturer and the coordinator of the Graphic Design and Visual Communication itinerary at BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona. I hold a degree in Graphic Design, a Master’s degree in Design Research from Eina (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and I am a PhD student.
I am interested in researching paradigm changes in the way of understanding design, practices and ideas that expand the definition and its relationship with the culture of design: mentality, processes and conceptual tools of the sector. I am also interested in criticism as a space for debate and the development of a discourse specific to graphic design.
With the thesis I am studying graphic design forms outside the studio-client model practices where design has a greater capacity for intervention and autonomy, through its own projects or assuming roles that go beyond the commercial service.
