My name is Rubén Martínez Moreno, I teach Economics, Business and Design at BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona. I hold a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (UB), a Master in Sociology and Public Politics and a PhD in Political Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
I research about the emancipatory capacity of community practices and social innovation, seeking to put this framework into practice in my work environment. I am a working partner of La Hidra Cooperativa, an associated work company focused on research and training for social transformation. In La Hidra Cooperativa I coordinate the research area, which focuses on public-community collaborations, housing and political ecology.
I supervise doctoral theses related to social and collaborative design or that, in general, question the relationships between politics, power and design, both from a theoretical and practical perspective.
